Audrey was my labor and delivery nurse with my first daughter. She was beyond amazing, and she had made such a huge impact on my fiancé and me - we constantly talked about her after we left the hospital. She had been there every chance she had to assist us in our first moments of parenthood. Every late night and every time I needed her, as I needed an emergency C-section. My fiancé and the father of my daughter passed away 5 months into our second pregnancy. I knew I would need a strong support person as my backbone to advocate for my second daughter and me, as I had nobody else who could be with me during my C-section. I chose to have Audrey as my support person in the OR during my cesarean. She had been next to me the whole morning as I prepped for my cesarean, during my cesarean, and post-delivery. She had held my hand during my cesarean and talked me through it all - even before surgery. She took priceless pictures of me meeting my daughter for the first time in the OR, even more pictures post-delivery in the recovery room, and every chance she could, she was snapping pictures as I was by myself. She took care of my baby girl and me completely. She stepped up when she didn’t have to out of the kindness of her heart. I adore her and believe she deserves recognition purely for her large heart. She is heaven-sent and truly an angel who prioritizes her patients and has a pure heart. During my follow-up appointment on the L&D floor, she still expressed her care and concern for my well-being and made sure I still had everything I needed. Needless to say, she will forever have a special place in my heart, and I will forever share stories of how amazing she is. Audrey was meant for this. My family and I are eternally grateful.
