During this time, I met Nurse Aubrey, and she was a ray of sunshine and gave me hope.
At the time that I had to receive help at the hospital, I had just had a previous heart surgery a few weeks prior. And the month before that, I lost my 4-month-old grandson. I was at a very low point, and I was not looking forward to this hospital stay.

I found out that I was going to have Bypass surgery, but I had to wait until I healed up from the previous surgery. During this time, I met Nurse Aubrey, and she was a ray of sunshine and gave me hope. My entire family commented to me every time they came up there to see me on how nice and polite she was, and overall, how caring she was. It was such a blessing to meet her and have her take care of me. She answered all questions and never seemed like me or my family was a bother.

Unfortunately, I have spent many days in hospitals (10 heart surgeries, a diabetic coma, and 48 times being cardioverted) and never have had anyone as awesome as her. If all nurses were like her, then the hospitals would be twice as overcrowded as they already are, because people would be fighting to spend time there with people so nice.

I pray that this message gets to her and that she gets acknowledged for the wonderful person she is and the excellent care she gives, and the wonderful heart she has. When I came back in April, I was so blessed to have her as my nurse again, but sadly for only one day! Thank you.

This is Aubrey's 2nd DAISY Award!
