It was my birthday and no one has visited me. She surprised me by coming in with a birthday cake she bought from Starbucks. I was very happy that day.
I was diagnosed with AML in Tawam Hospital. Initially, during my admission, I was so frightened. I was afraid for my life and for the whole situation. But this changed after meeting Ma’am Asma. She gave me inspirational thoughts on the beauty of life.

She is always there for every bone marrow aspiration that I had. She comforted me by explaining the procedures, and by letting me know what comes next after each session.

Ma’am Asma is so dedicated to her work. She is so caring, and always smiling. During the times I was really sick, she would always check on me and see what else can be done to make me feel better.

One time, I had an insurance issue. I did not know what to do because I don’t have my family here in the UAE. I am alone fighting against this sickness. Ma’am Asma gave me the proper instructions to see the Social Worker. She supported me in preparing the documents required to be submitted. She helped without hesitation.

The best experience I had with her was during the time I was placed in the Isolation Area. It was my birthday and no one has visited me. She surprised me by coming in with a birthday cake she bought from Starbucks. I was very happy that day. She told me to be strong so I could go home quickly and get back to my work.

Ma’am Asma has a very loving character and I feel she’s like my fairy. She is always there whenever I need support, and answers my WhatsApp messages even if she is off-duty. I admire her passion and dedication. She is the best nurse I have ever had, and I feel I have family here with her kind of care.
