Ashley is one of the most attentive, hardworking and compassionate nurses I have ever met here at CHOP. She prepared me better than anyone else to return home with my son as well as put my mind at ease at night when she was both his nurse and in charge. From the minute Ashley started to care for my son one evening I knew we were in great hands. We joke because she moves so fast through the PCU, but it's simply because she is getting so much done. Ashley doesn't just care for patients, she will work to make sure everything from their care, their playtime to every inch of their room was perfect. I tend to be a little anxious about keeping my son's room clean and as infection-free as possible, but Ashley only supported and encouraged this. She did and does everything possible to make sure the patient and families feel comfortable in the PCU! The sigh of relief I breathed when I saw her walk in for a shift was huge. I hate nights here. We have had some scary ones, but with Ashley I know my son will be taken care of so well. I have never slept so soundly. Ashley has also prepared us for home better than any other nurse we've encountered. She immediately took charge of our training when we asked for her help in the PCU. She made sure we hit every milestone and she did this all from night shift! A very hard feat! because of her teaching, care, positive attitude and warmth we are so ready to go home, we just wish we could take her with us!
