My husband entered the Emergency Department early in the morning a week ago. Having symptoms of severe shaking and nausea, he spent many hours there awaiting a diagnosis.

Blood tests showed an elevated white blood count, and he was admitted to the hospital. He was monitored throughout the day, spiking a fever later in the evening and early morning hours. The next morning, a cause for the infection had still not been found after many tests were done.

Ashley O'Banion saw him first in the morning, and to say we were impressed by the care shown is an understatement. Her thoroughness, confidence in determining what was wrong, and comforting presence made all the difference during a very stressful time for our family. We were especially moved by the way Ashley quite literally got down on the floor to examine his feet and legs-an act that showed not just dedication, but her willingness to go above and beyond for her patients.

Her take-charge attitude and professionalism reassured us and truly set my husband on a path toward healing.
