During our recent visit to the hospital, my daughter was being treated for a possible arm fracture. The initial splint had been placed by someone else, but the doctor felt it needed to be redone — and that’s when Nurse Ashley stepped in. From the moment she entered the room, she was incredibly attentive, kind, and reassuring.
Ashley went above and beyond in every possible way. She took her time to carefully re-splint my daughter’s arm, making sure it provided proper support and comfort, ensuring that if there was a fracture, it would stay stable and protected. She checked every detail — that nothing was rubbing, pinching, or uncomfortable — and explained everything she was doing in a calm, comforting way that eased my daughter’s fears.
Ashley didn’t just stop there. She noticed the sling wasn’t fitting quite right, so she went out of her way to find a better one — something softer, more supportive, and more comfortable for my daughter’s delicate skin. She even made a personal recommendation on which orthopedic doctor to call and which office could get us in quickly, which was incredibly helpful at that late hour.
It was getting close to midnight, and my daughter and I were both tired, but Ashley’s compassion and energy never faded. She even brought us a school note for gym and recess — something I hadn’t even thought of in the moment — just to make sure we were fully taken care of before leaving.
Beyond her professionalism, Ashley was funny, warm, and uplifting. She made my 11-year-old laugh, helped her feel safe, and truly turned what could have been a frightening experience into something positive.
