Ashley L Moore, RN
I would like to recognize Ashley Moore for her exceptional compassion, professionalism, and dedication to patient-centered care. As an RN, she consistently demonstrates a calm, reassuring presence that makes patients and families feel heard, supported, and safe.
Recently, Ashley went above and beyond when caring for one of the patients who has been inpatient for a long time. He has no family in the country. There are struggles with a discharge plan as the patient has no insurance and needs placement in a facility. Ashley has created a bond with the patient, and he trusts her.
She took the time to thoroughly explain every step of care, ensured the patient's comfort, and advocated strongly for the patient’s needs. Her attention to detail, clinical expertise, and genuine kindness made a meaningful difference during a very stressful time. Ashley also coordinated a birthday party for him.
What stands out most is her ability to blend skill with humanity. Ashley anticipates needs before they’re spoken, collaborates seamlessly with the care team, and treats every patient with exceptional dignity and respect. She embodies the values of nursing and serves as a role model for her colleagues.
We also had a patient who was admitted for placement. Her husband was not able to care for her anymore. Ashley made time to ensure her patient had a mask on; she also sat with the patient and just talked. They went outside, had ice cream together…all while she managed to care for her other three patients.
Ashley really cares for patients, which is exactly the kind of nurse you hope to find. For her extraordinary compassion, outstanding clinical care, and unwavering commitment to excellence, I wholeheartedly believe Ashley Moore deserves this DAISY Award.
