Ashley Hofius

Ashley is a truly kindhearted nurse, peer, and student who brings light to those around her. She has a remarkable ability to notice what others might overlook, and she consistently reaches out to make people feel seen, valued, and included. I have witnessed her time and again offering encouragement to her peers and providing a compassionate, understanding presence for those who are struggling. Her kindness extends far beyond the classroom. In her care for patients and their families, Ashley exemplifies genuine compassion and empathy. This was especially evident during her mission trip to Greece, where she cared for vulnerable refugees with such tenderness and grace. She not only met their physical needs but also offered emotional and spiritual comfort through praying with them and showing a genuine depth of care that was deeply felt. Ashley’s heart for others is truly special, and I can see how her heart will be such a blessing to her NICU patients and their families. There is no doubt that this will not be the last time her dedication and compassion are recognized with a DAISY Award. She is an absolute gem, and the nursing profession will be better because of her.
