Ashley embodies the purpose of the DAISY Award. I was scheduled for an ablation. My sister died of a heart-related issue at 42, and my other sister died of a hemorrhage in her early 60s, and I was very concerned. Ashley was the nurse I prayed for! She was empathetic, understanding, dedicated, and incredibly skilled. She explained everything in detail as she was working and answered all of my multiple questions, and I know I asked the same questions twice! She checked on me more than any nurse I have ever had in any hospital setting and alleviated all my concerns. I unfortunately had a “bleed” when I got up to walk, and her response was immediate, calm, and well-trained in how she stopped it and resumed protocol with extra precautions. She understands that procedures require not only physical and diagnostic considerations, but also emotional support for the best results. If Ashley had not been so supportive, I would not have been able to enter the procedure so calm and be able to tolerate being treated only under sedation for the first part of the procedure. Her care greatly contributed to the procedure's success. I am incredibly grateful she was my nurse. St. Luke’s is lucky to have her representing them and a testimony of their commitment to patient care.

Thank you, Ashley, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
