He always gave me the chance to learn hands-on, which helped me feel more prepared and confident in delivering better care to patients.
Ash is the kind of nurse who naturally leads with empathy, energy, and excellence in patient care. He approaches every shift with a deep sense of responsibility, but also with a contagious positivity that uplifts everyone around him. In the fast-paced, unpredictable world of the emergency department, Ash is a constant source of knowledge, stability, and genuine compassion. He takes time to explain procedures, de-escalate tense situations, and advocate fiercely for his patients. Whether it’s helping a coworker or jumping into a critical situation without hesitation, Ash always shows up 100%. Even in chaotic moments, he brings a calm, confident presence that puts both patients and teammates at ease.
Ash is so much more than a great nurse—he’s been one of the most important people in my own journey. When I first arrived in the ED, I came from a floor unit and was completely overwhelmed. I was terrified. The energy, the pace, the unpredictability—it was a world I didn’t know how to navigate. I felt like an outsider, unsure if I even belonged there. But Ash was one of the first people who made me feel included. He made me feel welcome. He made me feel like I mattered.
He helped me with every question, every small task, and never once made me feel like I was a burden. He always gave me the chance to learn hands-on, which helped me feel more prepared and confident in delivering better care to patients. This speaks volumes about who he his: someone who genuinely wants others to grow, so we can give our best to every patient who comes through those doors. His support gave me the courage to try new things, to speak up, and to keep pushing myself. Because of him, I now feel comfortable stepping into more responsibilities and taking on a more active role. He’s loud, hilarious, and a force of positivity, but more than that—he genuinely cares. His energy fills the department in the best way. You can hear him coming from across the ED, and somehow, things just feel better when he’s around.
Ash changed how I saw myself in this role. He helped me believe that I could belong here—and that makes him someone I will always be grateful for.
