It didn’t matter if it was the beginning or end of his shift, he remained positive, patient, and kind.
In August, my mother was admitted to St. Joseph Medical Center following a fall.  After her condition was assessed, it was determined that she had a broken femur.  She underwent surgery to repair the bone the following day.  She is 95 years old, and this experience was truly traumatic and disorienting.  During her stay at SJMC, she was very fortunate to come under the care of Arsh.  From the moment Arsh came on his shift, he paid close attention to my mother’s needs.  She is hearing impaired and has macular degeneration, which made communication a challenge.  Arsh spoke slowly and clearly, so she could understand him.  He explained to my mom and me the purpose of the medications he was administering and the tests that were being performed.  It didn’t matter if it was the beginning or end of his shift, he remained positive, patient, and kind.  This was, after all, my precious mother, and I was concerned about her welfare.  If we pressed the buzzer, signaling she needed assistance, he promptly arrived in her room to check on her condition.  Arsh even sat with me and described in detail what to expect when she entered the rehab facility.  He sent clear discharge instructions with her to the rehab facility.  He explained those instructions to me so I could properly follow up at the facility.  My mother and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Arsh for the highly skilled care he provided for her as a post-op patient at St. Joseph Medical Center.  Thank you, Arsh, for the outstanding care that you provided for my mother.  Your actions truly helped to make a very scary, unfortunate situation less stressful.  We are forever indebted to you for the conscientious effort that you put into her care and the kindness and compassion you extended to us both.
