My husband was referred for a platelet infusion quickly and, without much information from his doctor, the day before a scheduled surgery. The procedure was unexpected and we were unprepared for what to expect and frankly overwhelmed with the addition of the infusion on top of a surgery that has been a process to schedule. We had several setbacks during the day and were at a breaking point when arriving for the infusion. Arlene was calm, and very kindly explained what we could expect and what everything meant. She was truly the bright spot on a very confusing and overwhelming day. Her demeanor and kindness will be remembered. My husband has been going through a long diagnostic process for several months and Arlene was the nicest and most helpful health professional we have had to date. It calmed both of us and steadied us going into his surgery.
