I brought my grown, 23-year-old daughter to the ER one evening. She had been having pretty severe symptoms that align with POTS and/or Chiari. She was missing work, her mental health was suffering along with her physical health. We have been trying to get a diagnosis for a while.

We were about to be sent home with a simple shot for a migraine/occipital neuralgia when she and I both broke down. Arisbeth was so attentive, so compassionate, and never wavered from the oath she took as a nurse. She went out to speak with the ER doctor after hugging and consoling my daughter, who was feeling hopeless.

When Arisbeth came back into the exam room, she told us we were going to get the CT that would help give answers for why my child was in so much pain. She listened from the heart, and she used her training to have a voice for her patient, my child. That moment of courage and incredible work as a nurse led to a life-changing diagnosis for my daughter, and I will be forever grateful to her!
