We've met a lot of nursing staff over the years, but April showed us a level of care, concern, and encouragement that could be an excellent trainer for future nursing staff.
One must experience care in multiple hospitals and with different nursing staff to recognize that there are different levels of care, compassion, and common courtesies. Liberty Hospital has excelled in all of the above. When faced with life-altering situations, the nurse and their support system are crucial to recovery because the nurse's attitude and actions heavily impact a patient.
April was a ready source of care and compassion! She tried to quickly resolve issues as they arose, like the bleeding mishaps that happened over and over during our stay. From our first night’s stay, when we encountered April, it was obvious she enjoyed her job; she was patient with our repeated questions and the difficulties of the patient’s family trying to interpret their loved ones’ needs. April listened well, but I felt she was a quick assessor with medical situations when they arose. When we thought release was happening, my husband wasn't released for necessary observation needs, we were not disappointed knowing we would have April back to care for my husband through the hurdle. We've met a lot of nursing staff over the years, but April showed us a level of care, concern, and encouragement that could be an excellent trainer for future nursing staff. We were blessed beyond words, and we are grateful for nurses like April! Sometimes it's the menial non-nursing tasks that reveal the heart of the person. April is such a person, and such a nurse!
