Annissa Veyo, BSN, RN

Annissa Veyo welcomed both me and my son with warmth, positivity, and genuine care during a very difficult visit. My son was in significant pain, and she checked on him frequently, making sure he was as comfortable as possible. Her attentiveness and upbeat spirit made a stressful situation feel lighter and more manageable. What meant the most to me personally was the way she took the time to communicate with me respectfully and intentionally. I am hearing impaired, and she made sure to face me, speak clearly, and include me in every conversation. She even took a moment to learn some sign language so she could communicate with me more effectively. That small act showed tremendous compassion, patience, and cultural awareness — something deeply needed and appreciated in the hearing-impaired community.

Annissa engaged with my entire family, making us feel welcome, supported, and understood every time my son needed care. Her kindness, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond truly stood out. Because of her exceptional compassion, communication, and dedication to both my son and me, I believe she is highly deserving of the DAISY Award.
