Annise Graham-Glicksman, RN, MN, CCEFM
I would like to commend Annise Graham-Glicksman because she was truly the most compassionate, dedicated, and exceptional Nurse we encountered during one of the most frightening moments of our lives. I was moved to L&D at only 24 weeks pregnant and spent two very difficult days experiencing contractions and significant pain, knowing that my baby was extremely premature and that every moment mattered.
During those two days, Annise never made me feel alone. She stayed by my side, continually checked on me, listened to my fears, comforted me through the pain, and did everything within her ability to give me strength and hope. Her care went far beyond simply doing her job; she cared for me as a person and made me feel safe when I was terrified about what was happening to my baby. She was patient, gentle, reassuring, and incredibly attentive, and she advocated for me while making sure I understood what was happening.
When my baby ultimately arrived extremely prematurely at 24 weeks, I will never forget the compassion and dedication she showed me during those critical days leading up to her birth. Annise helped me feel that I was not facing this experience alone, and that meant more to me than I could ever put into words. Nurses like her leave a lasting impact on families, and her kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication will forever be a part of our daughter’s story. She is exactly what a DAISY Award nurse should be, and I am incredibly grateful that she was there for us when we needed her most.
