I am proud to recognize RN Annie Misaki in recognition of her extraordinary leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to elevating nursing excellence at SGH.

Several years ago, Annie played a pivotal role in bringing the DAISY award program to SJGH. Through her vision and determination, she helped establish a culture of gratitude and recognition that continues to positively impact our organization.  As the DAISY Award program coordinator, she has worked tirelessly to sustain and grow the program, ensuring that nurses feel valued and celebrated for the compassionate, skillful care they provide every day.

Annie currently leads the organization's DAISY committee through thoughtfully guiding the review of nominations and facilitating meaningful discussion as members select monthly award recipients.   She approaches this responsibility with fairness, integrity, and deep respect for the stories shared by patients, families, and colleagues.  Her leadership ensures that each nomination is honored and that recipients truly reflect the spirit of the DAISY Award.

In addition to sustaining the traditional DAISY Award, Annie was instrumental in introducing the DAISY Nurse Leader Award to SJGH. Her initiative expanded the program’s reach, recognizing nurse leaders who inspire, mentor, and influence nursing practice across the organization. This expansion demonstrates her forward-thinking, leadership, and her commitment to professional growth and recognition at every level of nursing.

Beyond her work with the DAISY program, Annie serves as the clinical educator for the Intensive Care Unit.  In this role, she exemplifies mentorship, professionalism, and Clinical Excellence.  She fosters a supportive learning environment, encourages evidence-based practice, and consistently lifts up both new and experienced nurses.  Her positivity, approachability, and proactive mindset inspire those around her to strive for excellence.

Annie is an exceptional leader who not only recognizes excellence in others but actively works to cultivate it.  Her dedication, initiative, and passion for professional recognition have strengthened our nursing culture at SJGH and continue to leave a lasting impact.

She truly embodies the spirit of nursing leadership and deserves recognition for the difference she makes every day.

---

Annie Misaki truly does it all—and somehow makes it look easy.

She’s not just the DAISY coordinator, but also an ICU clinical educator, charge nurse, code responder, preceptor, resource, and even break relief when needed. No matter what role she’s in that day, she shows up ready to support the team and make sure patients are getting the best care possible.

She’s been a big part of rolling out important education like TeamSTEPPS, Holter monitor training, and MICU resident orientation (just to name a few). She’s always willing to step in, teach, guide, and help others grow.

What really stands out is how reliable and approachable she is. You can count on her to get things done, and she’s always thinking about how to make things better for the team. She leads by example and creates an environment where people feel supported.

She makes a difference every single day, and it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thank you, Annie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
