I have known Annie Mathew for over 22 years. When I was a new hire on the unit, she was the first person I met. She was my mentor and eventually one of my closest work friends and colleagues. Patiently, she guided me and orientated me to the unit. As an excellent mentor, she instilled in me great confidence in my abilities by always praising me when I provided excellent work. She has taught me to be meticulous in documentation, accountable, and always work to the best of my ability. She exemplifies all the core values that are valuable to NYPW. She shows great respect towards her peers and patients. She is dignified and respects her peers and patients. She is a great team player, always being available to assist other team members. She shows great integrity in her work and is accountable for her work, herself, and her peers. She is a real asset and a hidden gem to our intuition. To this day, I still follow her example. She is incredibly warm and empathetic. Over the years, several patients have praised her and committed to her warmth and diligence in her care towards them. No patient was ever too difficult for her. She was always able to win over the most challenging patient situations.

Throughout our time working together, Annie has consistently demonstrated excellence in patient care, with numerous patients expressing their gratitude for her compassionate nature and thoroughness. I vividly recall a time when she went above and beyond to ensure that a new mother felt supported, staying late to assist with her concerns. Annie's uplifting spirit and willingness to help her colleagues never went unnoticed. Her legacy of diligence and warmth truly deserves this prestigious recognition.
