September 2026 Honoree
Anna Scott, BSN, RN, CPN
My 16-year-old daughter has been having a rough time being admitted for health issues, and Anna has taken extra care of her. Anna has a really wonderful bedside manner and is extremely kind, pleasant, and engaging. She has taken the extra time to hear my daughter's concerns and has taken the extra step in being a nurse.
My daughter would also like to add that she is very sweet and nice.

My 11-year-old son was admitted for ongoing GI issues. By the time we met Anna, it was his second full day being hospitalized. He had already been poked multiple times, had endured an entire day and night of prep for colonoscopy (zero sleep and a lot of discomfort), nausea and vomiting, and either NPO or clear liquids only for over 24 hours.
He's a tough kid, stoic and kind. He never complains and answers everything with a quiet "I'm fine," but he had finally broken down and cried the night before when he needed a new IV and the prep was causing a lot of discomfort. I can't even describe what it did to my heart seeing him broken.
Then Anna walked in the next morning as our day nurse. She was like a breath of fresh air. She was so incredibly kind and attentive and went out of her way to do everything in her power to make my son comfortable.
Some of the things she had to do for his care could have been incredibly uncomfortable for him both physically and emotionally, but she took her time and used all the tools at her disposal to make it easier for him.
When she sat at the edge of his bed and patiently explained everything she was doing to my son on his level, I almost cried. She even got him to crack a smile.
I am a nurse of 20-plus years myself, and I'm telling you Anna is the type of person you want caring for your loved ones. There are the nurses who do their job well physically caring for you, and then there are the ones who TRULY make you feel seen.
Her kindness, attentiveness, and bedside manner set her apart. We are so very grateful!
Thank you, Anna, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
