I have so much medical trauma being a type 1 since I was little. I am no stranger to hospital stays. My first two nights here, Anna took care of me. I am 28, and Anna was hands down so gentle, kind, quiet, and respectful. Explaining every step, asking consent the entire way. I've never felt more safe with a nurse. She was just so gentle, and her bedside manner and attentiveness were nothing short of remarkable.

I was so hungry and had so much anxiety with food and restrictions. She spent time on her own break to grab me a Diet Coke and salad, calling another nurse to ask me exactly what I wanted on it. Her consideration blew my mind. I may never see her again, but I will never forget her. She is observant, immediately noticing wounds or any small thing that could make me uncomfortable. So timely, I waited for nothing.

Advocating for me and my baby's best interest, asking questions, honoring my requests, and making phone calls on my behalf. Listening to me cry and taking the time to validate my frustrations, sharing with me, and making a true effort to connect. Being here all alone has been hard, but with Anna by my side. I was loved and cared for, never judged. She is truly an angel worthy of this award. Thank you, Anna.
