I witnessed Nurse Anna Medvecky go above and beyond for a recent patient in the ED. The patient, who is homeless, checked into our ED not knowing that his visit would result in him being transferred for inpatient care. Anna showed compassion when caring for this patient, who also brought a dog in during his visit. The dog, not being able to travel or enter the patient room, was kept here by staff to ensure its safety. Anna's empathy stood out when she offered to take in the dog to her own home while the patient is currently receiving inpatient care and has been in communication with the patient to ensure that his dog is being well cared for while he heals. Anna demonstrated what it means to be a proud and caring nurse in our network!
