She absolutely radiates selfless service, compassion, and attention to detail.
I was transported to MCR with a heartbeat in the 40s and my heart in AFib. Since it was late afternoon on Saturday, I was admitted to await treatment on Sunday. Annie was my nurse beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday. I was in great mental stress and anxiety, as this Afib episode was much worse than other episodes in the past.
Annie entered the room, and immediately her presence and calm demeanor set me at ease. I was probably in mild shock because, in my opinion, this was a life-threatening episode. She asked frequently if there was anything she could do for me. She assured me that staff were coming in to oversee the cardioversion procedure, as no nurses were on duty in that department on a Sunday morning. She followed up promptly after the procedure to have me discharged. She made sure medications were promptly received from the pharmacy, and she placed a meal order for me as well.
She absolutely radiates selfless service, compassion, and attention to detail. She has a joyousness and a great sense of humor. Annie deeply impacted my 24-hour stay at MCR. I was very emotionally distressed by the AFib event and did not completely comprehend the depth of that distress until days later, as I sat at home thinking, “What just happened?” I’ve had AFib episodes for about 20 years, but never like this. It really rattled me, and Annie was so wonderful.
