Her presence was soothing and helped when he became agitated.
My father, who has dementia, experienced congestive heart failure. He was hospitalized to remove the excess fluid from his body. He was confused and disoriented and, after a few days, wanted to return to his room at a local memory care facility. Ann Robinson was his day nurse. Each interaction with my father was filled with compassion, patience, gentleness, and consideration, as well as with professionalism. Her demeanor was instrumental in keeping him calm and well-cared for. Her presence was soothing and helped when he became agitated. She quietly offered him care and made sure he was offered drinks to ensure he stayed hydrated. She almost instinctively knew how to respond when he was confused or she needed to move him or perform a medical task and he was resistant. Most often, my father is pleasant and compliant, but periodically, when he has had enough, his strong will emerges. Anne was gifted in redirecting and helping him do what needed to be done. She was a gift to my family during this time and a blessing to my father. I am most grateful for both her professionalism and her beautiful spirit in caring for my father. I commend her! She could be a wonderful mentor for other medical professionals just starting out. She has a servant's heart. She is proactive and considerate and thinks ahead of time about what she will need to anticipate. Empathizing with the person, not just the patient in need of ministration. She is special and a 'one of a kind' and stands out among her peers. My parents have both been hospitalized at East Cooper. The care has been outstanding. The caregivers and physicians have been professional and caring. I am most grateful for such good care in times of need.
