My mother was in the ICU for almost three weeks, where, sadly, she passed. The care that she received was exemplary, giving my mother (despite her being unconscious for the entire time) painstakingly attentive care. 

All the nurses were outstanding, but my nomination goes to Anj, with whom we spent the most time. 

Her breadth and depth of knowledge far outstripped anything we expected, and, at first, I mistook her for a junior doctor. 

Her empathy, sensitivity, genuine care, and unfaltering attentiveness went above and beyond all standards. It was easy to form a relationship with her. 

It was a wonder to see how hard she works, and her commendable work ethic was evident. 

There was no doubt that she was hoping as much as we were that my mother would improve, but at the same time, she maintained our expectations and never gave us false hope - a hard balance to achieve. 

She answered our plethora of questions clearly and never seemed to rest for a moment in taking care of her charges. 

Even though I lost my mum, I have no concerns that more could have been done for her, thanks in part to Anj's unfaltering care.
