She was so kind and compassionate towards us. She did absolutely everything to make us and our mother feel comfortable.
My partner’s mother came to St. Bernards after a rigorous challenge with pancreatic cancer and managing blood sugar levels. Once the decision to place her on comfort care was made, Angie came on for the night shift. She immediately took the time to introduce herself, clean the room, explain to us different options for comfort care, and direct us to amenities for ourselves. She was so kind and compassionate towards us. She talked us through the end stage of life and her previous experience with caring for those who are preparing to head onto their next life. She did absolutely everything to make us and our mother feel comfortable. Without her knowledge and words of affirmation, we wouldn’t have been able to find such peace in that moment. Angie is the kind of nurse that you pray will walk into your room to care for your loved ones. She’s also the kind of nurse that reminds people what nursing is truly about, advocating and caring for others in every way possible. We will be forever grateful that we had the opportunity to meet Angie and have her care for our mother in such a delicate time.
