Angela Menish, BSN, RN, MSN, FNP Student

On an island off the coast of Alaska lives a GMU FNP Online student, Angela Menish. The population is about 3000 residents. She truly “cares for her community”. Her passion for nursing and providing compassionate care to her patients has driven her excellence as a student who strives to become an advanced practice nurse. “I go home each night after clinicals and look up anything I didn’t fully understand, this is so helpful. I can’t believe this program is almost over and how lucky I am to have been part of GMU’s nurse practitioner program.” Her clinical practicum is not like those experienced by many nurse practitioner students. She is able to care for her patients from the primary care office to admission to the hospital, during their hospitalization and then assist them in the transition of care to their home. She has made an impact on each patient she has encountered. During Covid, she was a key leader in ensuring the most vulnerable in the community were first to receive their vaccination. Angela will continue to touch the lives of many patients.
