His wealth of experience in the ICU was evident as he addressed any concerns my husband or I had with empathy and expertise. He not only prioritized my husband’s needs but also recognized and supported me during my frequent visits and long stays. Throughout his shifts, Andrew maintained regular communication with us, providing updates on test results and discharge plans, while offering insights into the purpose and goals of specific tests. One moment that stands out vividly was his attentiveness to my husband’s respiratory concerns. Despite the monitors providing data, Andrew would often stand at the doorway, counting respirations himself to ensure everything was okay. Having been in healthcare for over 25 years, I can confidently say that Andrew is one of the finest nurses I have ever encountered.
