My best friend visited the acute care clinic due to being sick at work. Andrea came in on her own when she heard my friend getting sick while we were waiting to see the doctor. She calmly and efficiently got him more vomit bags, moved the Kleenex box next to him, and acknowledged that he already had a bottle of water. She impressed us both with her kind, patient manner, friendly tone, and caring personality.

Administering his shot, she told him it honestly helps to wiggle your toes. Again, using this as a distraction when giving him a COVID nostril test. We loved her way of trying to make something uncomfortable and painful more bearable and even playful.

She took the time to explain each test he was going to have and what would happen during them before taking him to the lab. It was nice to hear her saying that he was going to meet her favorite lab person! She has such a bright, positive, sunny attitude with nothing but glowing words to say about everything Sanford. What a wonderful change of pace to know someone genuinely loves their job and their place of employment, and their co-workers.

She ended by making sure to explain the take-home procedure my friend has for a separate issue. How he needed to wrap a leg wound, which bandage to use, and how to bandage it. She educated him gently on the fact he had it too tight!

We felt like she actually cared. It is rare in this day and age to feel that way about too many medical personnel or anyone helping or serving in any profession, for that matter.

Andrea deserves recognition for her extraordinary service!

Thank you, Andrea, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
