She keeps her focus firmly on what is best for our patients and exemplifies the highest standards of nursing.
It is an honor to nominate Analyn Altamira for the DAISY Award in recognition of her selfless and compassionate care for our members, her colleagues, and our leadership team. Analyn is a true pillar of light to all who know her, and a tireless advocate for her patients.
Despite the inconvenience of working opposite schedules on the night shift, she steadfastly serves on our Nursing Unit Council, where her contributions are highly valued. Her commitment to safety and excellence is evident in her actions. On two separate occasions, Analyn directly prevented two patients from falling and injuring themselves—once by using sound nursing judgment to remain with a member who initially declined assistance, and another time through her diligent commitment to purposeful hourly rounding. She is quick to share learnings with her team members and is seen as a mentor and role model.
Beyond her patient care, Analyn consistently gives her time to strengthen unit practices, including improving communication, sharing fall-prevention strategies during huddles, and always being ready to support her colleagues. She keeps her focus firmly on what is best for our patients and exemplifies the highest standards of nursing. She sets a professional example by firmly but kindly escalating important issues to leadership’s attention and is quick to identify barriers and propose thoughtful solutions that improve unit and patient care. She is kind, considerate, warm, and a true example of Caritas consciousness at the bedside.
Analyn is truly the gold standard of what it means to be a registered nurse.
