Analaura Camejo has been a wonderful addition to the West Coast University – Miami family. As a proud WCU alumna, she has truly come full circle—returning to our campus as faculty to share the knowledge, skills, and experiences she gained as a student.
Although she has been with us for a short time, Analaura joined our team with tremendous enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to mentoring future nurses. Students consistently express that she is both caring and highly knowledgeable, always willing to offer additional support to those who may be struggling. Drawing from her experience as a former PAL Tutor, she openly shares the techniques and resources that helped her excel in the program.
During New Student Orientation, Analaura also highlights the value of student engagement, sharing how her involvement in organizations such as the Student Advisory Council and the Student Nursing Association strengthened her connections with peers and broadened her network within the healthcare community.

Professor Camejo made her Wednesday night classes the highlight of my week! Every class was just as entertaining yet educational as the week before. She is the reason I believe in myself and believe I will do great things in my future career as a nurse. The fact that she asked if I'd consider becoming a PAL tutor is everything to me. I hope to touch as many lives as she has.

Professor Camejo, besides being a great Professor, shared stories about her time in our shoes, being a nursing student, and learning from one's mistakes. It was a learning experience, and that no matter what, we should keep going for our goals. When in class, Professor Camejo was exemplary, the way she explained how she learned from her mistakes as a new grad and the skills she learned from being new in the field, and being able to tell us how she fixed it and how other experienced nurses helped me be successful in learning new techniques and improving her own.
That's exactly what she did with our cohort students; she, as a professor, is amazing, as a nurse and a human being, shows great compassion and a love for her job and her students. I could not have asked for a better experience in my first term in CORE classes, even though it was difficult. Professor Camejo made an early morning class interesting and eye-opening.
It's always a pleasure to let her know how I am doing in my classes, and the genuine talks we have on how I can improve my skills when I am at clinical are something I am very grateful for. She highly deserves it!

The entire semester, Camejo’s attitude towards teaching kept me motivated to learn. She provides everything needed to learn and makes learning easy. I have honestly never had a better professor than her.

Professor Camej showed what it truly means to be an outstanding teacher. She had a unique ability to break down complex nursing concepts into ways that were clear, engaging, and easy to apply in practice. Her teaching style was interactive and supportive, creating an environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and actively participating.
More than just teaching the material, she ensured we understood the “why” behind everything, which strengthened both our knowledge and confidence. Her dedication, patience, and genuine passion for teaching made a lasting impact on my learning experience and growth as a future nurse.
Though I fell short in her class, she was an amazing professor, and I’m more than pleased to take the course with her again.
