Translation: My mother has gone through multiple health issues: three heart attacks, a pacemaker, thyroid problems, and kidney failure. In July 2024, she suffered a stroke, and we arrived at the emergency room in very serious condition. One of her kidneys had failed to the point that the doctors told us to notify our relatives because it was very likely she would not make it through the night. Thank God, she did pull through. She later needed to undergo hemodialysis, a process she had avoided for some time due to fear and uncertainty. However, over time, my mother adapted, and after 14 months of attending consistently, she has regained much of her emotional well-being.
Although she has been affected in the mobility of the right side of her body and her speech, she now feels confident enough to move within her abilities, without developing any sores, and she makes an effort to communicate with confidence. In this process, our nominated nurse has been fundamental. For a long time, she served as our link to the hemodialysis department. She has demonstrated a true vocation for service, providing attentive care to patients, talking with them, adapting to their needs, and being a light during difficult moments, all while showing great professionalism in her work. She is someone who helps ease the emotional burden and makes patients feel comfortable. I am grateful to her and recognize that everything she does, she does with dedication and genuine care.
