Amy is more than just a skilled nurse—she is a source of support, positivity, and encouragement for all of us.
Nomination #1:
Amy is a shining example of dedication, compassion, and excellence in nursing. Her contributions extend far beyond her assigned role, making her an invaluable part of not only her home site but the entire organization.
Although I do not currently work at Amy’s site, I had the pleasure of working closely with her at her previous location. I continue to collaborate with her through her weekend support and on-call coverage, and I am consistently reminded of the incredible nurse and person she is.
Amy serves as the medication room nurse at her home site, where she consistently delivers high-quality care with professionalism and heart. In addition to this role, she provides on-call support across multiple sites and frequently picks up weekend shifts to conduct home visits at two different locations. Her flexibility and reliability ensure that participants receive consistent, compassionate care no matter where they are.
What truly sets Amy apart is her infectious personality and her ability to connect deeply with those she serves. She is known to laugh and cry with our participants, becoming not just their nurse, but part of their family. Her presence brings comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging that cannot be taught; it comes from the heart.
Amy regularly goes beyond her nursing duties to improve participants’ lives in meaningful ways. When one participant expressed concern about privacy in their ground-floor apartment, Amy took it upon herself to hang curtains to help them feel safe and secure. She built a cat house for another participant to ensure their beloved pet had a warm, cozy space in the cold, and she placed a tarp over a leaking roof to protect another participant’s home from further damage. These acts of kindness are just a few examples of how Amy brings warmth and care into every aspect of her work.
Her dedication knows no bounds. Amy’s actions reflect a genuine desire to make a difference, and her presence uplifts everyone around her. She is not just a nurse; she is a source of strength, compassion, and inspiration.
