Over the past year, I went through infertility treatment, and throughout that entire journey, my nurse, Amy Saunders, was always by my side. Although we had never met in person, she was a constant presence in my life. From the very beginning, she made me feel like a human being, not just another patient or a number on a chart. Every message I received from Amy went far beyond IVF instructions and medication schedules. Her words were always filled with kindness, encouragement, support, and prayers. After every unsuccessful attempt, she reached out with genuine compassion, shared in my disappointment, and reminded me not to lose hope. Those messages meant more to me than I can express.

My husband and I are alone in this country, without family nearby, and the infertility journey brought an incredible amount of stress and uncertainty. Amy made that burden so much lighter. No matter how many questions I had or how often I needed clarification about medications, appointments, or next steps, she was always there. She never made me feel like a bother and always took the time to make sure I understood everything. One example perfectly illustrates the kind of person Amy is. After my final IVF cycle, I was on vacation on the West Coast when it was time for my pregnancy blood test. To my great joy, the result was positive, but I needed repeat testing while traveling between different locations. Amy not only arranged referrals to the labs closest to wherever I happened to be, but she also took the initiative to find their phone numbers and contact them directly to get my results. She didn’t have to do any of that, but she did because that is who she is. She consistently went above and beyond for me.

Throughout treatment, Amy carefully guided me through every medication calendar, every dosage change, and every important milestone. She calculated exactly when I needed to start and stop medications and ensured that nothing was overlooked. Her attention to detail gave me confidence during one of the most stressful periods of my life. The most special moment came during my first ultrasound, when I finally met Amy in person. Together, we learned that I was expecting twins. I will never forget the look on her face. She was genuinely, wholeheartedly happy for me. It wasn’t just professional satisfaction; it was real joy. After sharing so many difficult moments throughout my journey, she celebrated this miracle as if it were her own.

Some people may read this and think that Amy was simply doing her job. But from my perspective, she did far more than that. She provided comfort, hope, guidance, and unwavering support when I needed it most. She helped carry me through one of the most challenging experiences of my life, and I will always be grateful. I sincerely hope this award will help more people learn about Amy and the extraordinary care she provides. She is not only an exceptional nurse but also an exceptional human being, and she has made a lasting difference in my life and in the life of my growing family.

Thank you, Amy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
