She made my husband, my mom and most importantly myself feel heard and understood.
I checked in for an elective induction at 39 weeks pregnant. As a first-time mother, someone who is terrified of hospitals and a military member I was very anxious about the amount of support I’d have going into labor and giving birth. After already being 24 hours into the induction process, the labor and delivery department had another patient who needed immediate attention. At 7pm we got nurse Amy assigned to us, and she was heaven sent. She made my husband, my mom and most importantly myself feel heard and understood. She was very patient with all our questions and seemed like she knew what was going to happen before it did. It was smooth sailing as soon as she arrived, and it was amazing. She said at the beginning of her shift that her goal was for my baby to be born, and she definitely made that happen. After spending 41 hours in labor and delivery our baby girl was born at 3:56 am and we fully believe I wouldn't have been able to do it without her. She is someone my family will never forget, and we truly believe she was a blessing. I had a great birthing experience, and I owe it to nurse Amy.
