She was an advocate for me, validated all my feelings, and handled my case with the delicate humor and gentle ferocity I needed.
Nomination #1:
My son came in on 03/29/25, and Amy was his nurse. She was so loving and caring to him. She was singing to him and holding his hand while I wasn’t in the room. She was so loving during our time and waited while there. She made sure he was taken care of. Amy would talk to him the whole time when she had to do anything. I want her to know how amazing she is and how thankful I was to have her take care of my son.
Nomination #2:
From the beginning, I could tell that Amy had read my chart thoroughly as she referenced important information, she had gathered from messages sent to my OB’s office, as well as past visits. She was thoughtful in bringing me blankets and other things I needed, before I realized I needed them. She even offered to bring me a breast pump from the OB wing when I mentioned I needed to pump because of how long I had been there.
She went out of her way to look up information about the safety of the medication I was given as it relates to breastfeeding. She was calm, friendly, conscientious, patient, reassuring, and professional, and I was so appreciative. I had to come back the next day, and when she was here and saw me, she managed to get onto my care team as she knew it would be helpful to have someone involved who was there the day prior. She was an advocate for me, validated all my feelings, and handled my case with the delicate humor and gentle ferocity I needed. She was a human meeting another human’s needs, and I am so grateful for her involvement in my care.
