She gave me, which in turn gave my large family, the hope that we had been praying for after a year of not hearing from our loved one.
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Nurse Amy in person as I'm located in Portland, OR, but she was taking care of my brother recently at "Adventist Health" in Sonora, CA. My brother, who sadly is homeless, was admitted for emergency surgery after breaking his ankle pretty badly one evening while out on the streets. He also had to go through alcohol detox. During the first two hours, I learned that it was touch and go, but Nurse Amy was the nurse assigned to him that night, and as God is my witness, she was the absolute, perfect person to help him through that difficult process. I spoke with her over the phone the morning after, and she sounded like a complete angel on the other end! So caring, compassionate, empathetic, and patient! She gave me, which in turn gave my large family, the hope that we had been praying for after a year of not hearing from our loved one.
My brother has five grown children and two young Grandchildren. A whole lot to live for. He and I originate from a large family of 7 kids with lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mama and Papa were married for 65 years until the Lord called our Pop home. I shared this briefly with Amy over the phone and she was touched and also encouraged, this is just one of the many strange and also amazing ways that God works in the lives of His children.
