I would like to nominate Amiee Goley for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion and dedication to patient care.

Amiee went above and beyond for a paralyzed patient who was struggling emotionally during his hospital stay. He hadn’t been outside in weeks and was feeling increasingly isolated, lonely, and depressed. Without being asked, Amiee took the initiative to coordinate with the care team and made all the necessary arrangements to safely take him outside.

She ensured he was comfortable and safe throughout the experience, and more importantly, she simply spent time with him—no rush, no distractions, just presence. Her actions weren’t part of a checklist or assignment; they came from the heart.

Amiee recognized a human being in need of more than just medical care, and she responded with empathy, kindness, and grace. In doing so, she not only addressed his physical needs but helped restore his sense of dignity. It was the kind of care that leaves a lasting impact—not just on the patient, but on everyone who witnessed it.

Amiee exemplifies what the DAISY Award represents and is truly deserving of this recognition.
