The patient was in CCU post double mastectomy and reconstruction.  Her father was also a patient in CCU – next to her.  Amie was said to be compassionate and caring throughout the patient’s stay, with medicine given in a timely manner, wounds assessed as ordered, everything explained, and always smiling.  The patient pointed out these are nursing values that every nurse should have, but what makes Amie “Bloom” is making patients feel so important. 
    
Amie brought the patient to see her dying father just so she could hold his hand and whisper in his ear.  Every time Amie was her nurse, she knew it was going to be a good day.  The patient said with gratitude, Amie is a blessing to all she cares for.  The patient’s father passed away while she was in CCU and Amie made sure to have her by his side before, during and after.  Talk about compassionate care!  Patients should be so lucky to have Amie as their nurse.
