I have nominated Nurse Ambriyah for the DAISY Award because of the extraordinary compassion and professionalism she showed during my grandfather's visit. From the first moment she interacted with us, she brought calm and kindness into a stressful/overwhelming situation. She not only cared for my grandfather as a patient but also took the time to check on me as his family member, recognizing the emotional weight of the moment. She anticipated needs before I even had to ask. Turning off equipment alarms, explaining what was happening, and offering comfort with genuine empathy. Her words, “What’s wrong?” were not routine; they carried a depth of care that made me feel seen and supported. She exemplifies what nursing should be: blending technical skill with a heart for people.
