August 2026 Honoree
Amber Rohlf, BSN, RN, CPN
Amber has excelled in her role as an Assistant Clinical Manager, consistently modeling exceptional behavior and setting a powerful example for her team. Her leadership is grounded in compassion, accessibility, and a deep commitment to both her colleagues and the 9th floor's patients.
Amber makes it a priority to check in with every team member, including those of us on night shift—something that often goes overlooked. Her presence is felt even when she’s not in charge, and her approachability fosters an environment of trust, mutual respect, and professional growth. She listens, supports, and advocates for her team in ways that make us feel seen, valued, and heard.
When serving as a charge nurse, Amber never hesitates to jump in and work alongside bedside nurses, ensuring patients and families receive the attention and care they need. She is never afraid to speak up for the patients and is skilled at de-escalating tense situations with patients and families, handling the most difficult social situations with grace and professionalism. Her ability to lead with empathy and strength makes her an invaluable asset to our unit.
Amber always enters the unit with a smile, radiating positivity and warmth. Her presence is reassuring, and she’s someone we know we can turn to for anything, whether it’s a second opinion on a patient or guidance on professional matters. Recently, I asked Amber to attend a meeting with two other managers and me because I knew she would advocate for me. Her support made me feel safer and more confident at work.
Amber creates an environment where trust, compassion, mutual respect, and ethical behavior are not just encouraged; they are modeled. She motivates us with her steadfast support and guidance, and she elevates the image of nursing within our organization and beyond. Amber is more than a leader to the nurses on the 9th floor; she is a role model, a fierce advocate, and a compassionate force who uplifts everyone around her. Our unit is better because of her; our unit and our patients. Our culture is stronger because of her leadership.
