My son was hooked up to a ventilator and struggling to breathe and in extreme pain. I had received so many different versions of what was wrong with my son. Amanda Thomas popped her head into our room to say 'Hi', and that she would be with us. She was bubbly, engaging, responsive, compassionate, and most of all, knowledgeable. Within a matter of minutes, Amanda gave a complete and thorough update on what happened with my son, what she was doing, and what she had done. I told her the issues I was struggling with, such as communication with doctors. She immediately sprang into action. Within minutes, she had doctors coming in to explain things to me. She brushed his hair and cleaned his face and made him look better. This made me feel better. She is truly a rock star. I saw her at least 50 times within 8 1/2 hours. Always came in with a smile, a kind word, and a great attitude. The medical profession needs more nurses like Amanda. Thank you!
