Amanda Powers, RN

On Saturday, I met Amanda, the nurse assigned to my brother, who was already familiar with my role at another hospital. She demonstrated extraordinary kindness, outstanding communication abilities, and a gift for teaching. She patiently guided me through the infusion process step by step. Amanda also mentioned that she typically worked nights, but came in to help that morning and was already familiar with my brother, as she’d been with him at night before. She also provided updates on the events that had occurred up to that point and detailed the plans for the hours ahead. I cannot adequately express my gratitude for her support. Because of her, I was able to grieve for my brother as a sister rather than as a nurse, which was something I desperately needed.

Even during the phone call informing me of J’s passing, the sorrow in her voice and her willingness to explain what had transpired will remain etched in my heart. I genuinely believe she went above and beyond in caring for my brother. Thank you once again, Amanda.
