A patient in the same room as my mother had a severe stroke and was non-verbal and paralyzed. Amanda gave her such great care, always spending time with her and talking to her. Amanda placed a catheter, and when she finished, she told the patient, “I heard you like country music, and your favorite singer is Allen Jackson.” Amanda played her 2 songs of Allen Jackson. I believe this was the kindest and most caring act I have ever witnessed. The next day the family came in, I spoke with her daughter about it. She said thank you so much for letting me know that means so much to me. Amanda does “the little things that are so important” for her patients. This means so much to the patient and families. She truly deserves to be acknowledged for such great care and kindness.
