My wife eats healthy, regularly exercises, and takes good care of herself. She walked into the ER with a cold that wouldn’t go away. She walked out with an overactive thyroid and severe mitral valve dysfunction. Corewell was recommended to us by our local office, and two months later, she had robotic mitral valve repair surgery.

Amanda was the first nurse my wife had after moving out of the ICU. It’s the hardest part of recovery. Incessant nausea, breathing with what feels like a cement block on your chest. Right away, Amanda worked to find the right medications to handle the nausea. It took a while, but over hours, my wife had lasting relief.

Amanda was diligent in monitoring chest tubes and helping to get my wife moving just 24 hours after surgery. Amanda matched our energy. She was kind and friendly without being over the top. She stayed on top of everything happening with grace.

When it was tough for my wife, Amanda was patient and encouraging. The environment she created made it possible for rapid healing to occur. Within a day, tubes were removed, and my wife was moving more than expected.

Amanda was what we needed in those difficult moments. We wanted to take this moment to recognize and encourage Amanda. The job is intense.

What you do makes a difference. We will not forget it.

Thank you, Amanda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
