During one of the most critical and terrifying moments of my life, Amanda provided care that went beyond medical expertise—she brought unwavering compassion, leadership, and reassurance when I needed it most. As a float pool nurse at Inova, she stepped into the fast-paced environment of the Alexandria Hospital ER with confidence and skill, immediately making me feel safe in her hands.

Amanda was not only thorough and highly competent in managing my care, but she also had an incredible ability to bring calm amidst the chaos. She responded quickly and decisively, demonstrating exceptional clinical judgment while also leading and collaborating seamlessly with the medical team. Even after her shift ended, I watched her stay longer, ensuring that there were enough hands on deck—her dedication was evident in every action.

What stood out most, however, was the way she saw me as more than just a patient. I had a feeling that Amanda, herself, was a mother, and it made me even more confident that she understood the depth of my fear—not just for my own well-being, but for the five young children I longed to return home to. She comforted me in a way that no medication or procedure ever could, reminding me that I was not alone in my fight.
