Amanda became connected to the SON when she attended our first and second nurse camps for high school students. She came to UTT as a freshman and eventually started the nursing program. She was involved in Dr. Barnes' wilderness medicine group and holds an EMT certification. The Stop the Bleed research team invited her to the team as an honors student. She has gone above and beyond her requirements for the honors program. Amanda is always willing to help with extra courses in addition to the ones related to the research project. She also does a fantastic job of teaching the STB classes. She is an outstanding team member. In addition, she developed her research study to survey the UTTyler campus about awareness of bleeding control kits and then wrote a scholarly paper. She is truly one of a kind!
