For as long as I can remember, Amanda has been a positive role model for 7SE. I was one of her preceptors and have witnessed her become one of the most dependable, hardworking nurses on that unit. She is a thorough preceptor and a person who is always willing to answer questions, whether she is precepting or not. Her patience is evident in the feedback I have heard from those whom she has trained.

In addition to training new nurses in 7SE, she continuously provides support as a charge nurse by checking in with the nurses on shift, ensuring everyone has taken a break, and delegating tasks to those who are running behind. These actions provide a foundation that allows for a smooth and productive day.

Lastly, her compassion for patients extends beyond words. Although the unit can be hectic and challenging, she faces each situation head-on with persistence and motivation. Amanda delivers patient-centered care in addition to caring for the family members. I have personally seen Amanda connect with her patients on numerous occasions and feel she is more than deserving of the DAISY Award.
