My mother was under Alyssa's care for a low blood sugar episode. It was scary for her and the family because it had never happened to us before. Alyssa was extremely confident in her position and displayed great care and compassion for my mother. While Alyssa displayed all the criteria for this award, I have underlined the one that stood out most to me (Promotes and enhances the image of nursing within the organization, the community, and the profession). Nurses are the backbone of the medical industry. Patients and families rely on the nurse to help them get well again and that is what Alyssa did. Thank you.

Alyssa was so sweet to make sure I had a good time. She helped me feel better about being stuck in the hospital for Christmas. She and I made paper snowflakes, and she decorated my smartboard with a Christmas tree theme. Everyone who came in signed off on the board. She made a not so fun Christmas... memorable! I appreciate her going above and beyond for me! My family was grateful for her kindness and going above and beyond her nursing duties to bring some extra Christmas cheer! I’ll never forget her!
