My mother, who is also an aunt, sister, mother-in-law, and grandmother, was admitted to the unit where she passed away. Over the course of several extraordinarily difficult days, including a 2 a.m. emergency call and many family members showing up, Allison consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to supporting our family.

Many family members were present for extended periods of time, often asking questions and expressing concerns, and Allison addressed each of us with patience, clarity, and kindness. While the entire medical team provided exceptional care, Allison truly embodied what it means to be a nurse. She is an invaluable asset to your organization.

In addition to our mother’s hospitalization, her husband of 30 years was admitted the same day, arriving by separate ambulance. As her condition declined, Allison thoughtfully arranged for the husband to be brought from his room so he could sit with her and hold her hand on multiple occasions. Her efforts ensured that he was able to say goodbye, which brought immeasurable comfort to our family during an incredibly painful time.

In a busy setting, we would not expect every nurse to go so far above and beyond. Allison’s dedication, empathy, and exceptional patient-centered care deserve formal recognition. We are profoundly grateful for the compassion and dignity she showed our family.
