Allison Johnson, RN

Allison Johnson took care of my Papaw before he moved downstairs to the cardiac ICU. Once I came to visit him, he took my hand and with tears in his eyes he said “I had this nurse the other night that was wonderful. She gave me a pep talk before my surgery that was the best pep talk I’ve had. I really needed it.” Even being very weak, he was able to express how kind and how she went above and beyond for his care. Today while I was visiting him in the ICU, Allison took time out of her busy shift to come downstairs to check on my Papaw. She spoke with such genuineness about him and I could tell she was really rooting for him. As a nursing student myself, and as his granddaughter, I cannot begin to express my thankfulness for her. It moved me to tears to see her care for my Papaw in such a way that he wouldn’t forget. Besides this meaning so much to me as a granddaughter, Allison’s compassion inspires me and reminds me of the good in nursing. My family and I really appreciate her caring for him in such a genuine way.
